JetBrains Junie Local runs on-device with Qwen3.6-27B
JetBrains launched Junie Local, an on-device coding agent that runs entirely on Apple M5 Macs with 64GB RAM, using Qwen3.6-27B at 4-bit. It installs with one command, is free, and keeps code on-device. The M5 Neural Accelerator's 8-bit instructions give ~40% more prefill throughput.
