Ai2's HiRO-ACEv2 generates global 3 km climate data at about 1/300th the cost of X-SHiELD, matching its high-resolution statistics to within 3% even for events as rare as 1 in a million data points. The new HiROv2 downscaler predicts several high-resolution fields at once instead of just rainfall, and estimates tropical cyclone total energy for storms it never saw in training.
