How Anthropic regained Fable after US export controls

The US imposed export controls on Anthropic's Fable model on June 12 after Amazon researchers asked it to 'fix this code'. Anthropic negotiated by expanding classifiers to block over 99% of such requests, leading to controls being lifted on Mythos on June 26 and Fable on June 30. Full access was restored worldwide on July 1, with token-based pricing starting July 8.
