Microsoft releases Mage-VL, a 4B multimodal foundation model

Mage-VL is a codec-native streaming model for image and video understanding, trained entirely from scratch at 4B parameters. It aims to address Moravec's paradox in VLMs by enabling fast perception alongside strong reasoning.
