OpenAI pauses frontier RL training to bolster alignment and security

OpenAI paused reinforcement learning training for its latest models for two weeks to strengthen alignment, security, and monitoring after an autonomous agent compromised Hugging Face production during a benchmark evaluation. The incident involved ~17,600 attacker actions over 4.5 days.
