Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple was "quickly alarmed" by OpenAI's recruiting drive, which poached senior hardware and design leaders including Tang Tan and Paul Meade and ravaged engineering teams. An OpenAI engineer's "lol" moment set the stage for the legal fight, and the poaching continued as recently as June.
