Anthropic to charge usage-based fees for Claude Fable 5

Starting July 12, subscribers to Anthropic's $20-$200 monthly plans will pay additional usage-based fees for Claude Fable 5: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. This marks the first time a frontier AI lab has gated a consumer model behind usage-based billing, aligning with trends in AI coding tools.
