OpenAI's unreleased Astra model solves ten major open math problems

OpenAI reports that an internal version of its next model, Astra, solved ten major open mathematics problems, including new sphere-packing bounds and a disproof of Connes's rigidity conjecture. The solutions cost roughly $2,000 in tokens at Sol API rates and were formalized in Lean certificates.
