Explainable AI tool beats PD-L1 for NSCLC immunotherapy prediction
In the I3LUNG study of 2,396 NSCLC patients, AI models integrating clinical and blood data reached AUC up to 0.77 and significantly outperformed PD-L1, ECOG PS, NLR, LDH and LIPI in the independent test set. Lung expert and nonexpert physicians improved their predictions using the explainable AI tool.
