Anthropic to charge usage-based fees for Claude Fable 5

Starting July 12, Anthropic will charge subscribers extra usage-based fees for the consumer model Claude Fable 5: $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. This marks the first time a frontier AI lab has gated a consumer model behind usage-based billing, moving away from flat subscription plans.
