Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5, its most capable Opus model

Claude Opus 5 (claude-opus-5) is now the default Opus model in Claude Code, with 1M context and fast mode priced at $10/$50 per Mtok. Anthropic says it approaches Fable 5's frontier intelligence at half the price; Perplexity's WANDR eval had it beat all but Fable 5 while 57% cheaper.
