OpenAI is giving ChatGPT free users unlimited text chats
Starting next week, the unlimited text chat rolls out; messages with file uploads and images still hit limits. Free and Go users also get a "Think" button for harder questions, and the default model upgrades to GPT-5.6 Luna this week. Plus and Pro subscribers get a more fact-reliable GPT-5.6 Sol with a new reasoning-effort slider.
