The US government just told OpenAI who’s allowed to use the next GPT 5.6 model

The White House directed OpenAI to restrict the release of GPT-5.6 to 'trusted partners' approved by the US government. The move comes after a similar order that forced Anthropic to suspend access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models.
