The FTC confirmed an investigation into OpenAI, Anthropic and other AI companies over dangers their technology may pose to consumers; the New York Post first reported it and said it has been underway for months. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warned this month that without a slowdown, AI could within 6-12 months lead a swarm of agents capable of taking over the internet.
