OpenAI halts Astra training over critical cyber risks

OpenAI paused a significant number of Astra (GPT-6) training runs after internal evaluations showed it cannot rule out "critical" cyber capabilities, including finding zero-day exploits without human help. Prediction markets still give a 59% chance of release by Sept. 15 and 72% by month's end.
