US government forces Anthropic to take down Fable and Mythos

The White House demanded Anthropic take down its Claude models Fable and Mythos after a jailbreak was discovered, then hit them with an export restriction when they refused. Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei said there was 'no situation to fix' as the jailbreak outputs are already possible with GPT-5.5.
