Datalab released Indra OCR, a 1M-parameter recognition model that runs 49 pages/sec on 32 CPU cores — 11-17x faster than Tesseract and PaddleOCR's PP-OCR — with ~230 ms single-page latency. It outputs line and layout bounding boxes, block labels, reading order, and markdown or JSON, and beats both baselines on OmniParseBench text.
