Kimi K3 vs Claude Opus 5: an open model takes on 3D world generation
In a hands-on test, Claude Opus 5 produced the more polished 3D world but consumed ~20% of a weekly subscription (~$10), while open-weight Kimi K3 delivered a rougher but usable world at a fraction of the cost. The task ran on the Apache-2.0 Klein agent harness with an orchestrator plus seven sub-agents, and Kimi K3 self-corrected across iterations.
