OpenAI, Anthropic staff ask US to help pace AI progress
Employees of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral, and Thinking Machines signed a statement urging the US government to support a mechanism to "deliberately pace" AI development. The letter warns that leading AI companies "could be close to automating AI research."
