Anthropic suspends Fable 5 and Mythos 5 after US government directive

The US government issued an export control directive citing national security, forcing Anthropic to disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all customers. Anthropic received the directive at 5:21pm ET, with the government citing a jailbreak method that Anthropic says only found minor vulnerabilities other models can also detect.
