OpenAI's only dedicated ethicist Chloé Bakalar leaves, unreplaced

Chloé Bakalar, OpenAI's AI ethics lead, departed in July less than a year after joining, with no replacement named, per the FT. She was the company's only dedicated ethicist. Her exit follows departures by safety systems head Johannes Heidecke and chief futurist Joshua Achiam.
