US government suspends access to Anthropic's Fable 5 and Mythos 5
The US government issued an export control directive citing national security, forcing Anthropic to suspend all foreign national access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Anthropic says the claimed jailbreak is narrow and that other models like GPT-5.5 exhibit similar capabilities. The order was received at 5:21pm ET on June 12.
