Anthropic to charge usage-based fees for Claude Fable 5

Starting July 12, Anthropic will charge subscribers of $20–$200 plans extra usage fees for Claude Fable 5 at $10/$50 per million tokens (input/output). This is the first time a frontier AI lab uses usage-based billing for a consumer model, potentially raising costs significantly for heavy users.
