Amodei says Anthropic never sought open-weight bans, fears Chinese AI

In a Monday post, Dario Amodei said Anthropic has never advocated banning open-weight models, responding to Jensen Huang's letter urging against "premature restrictions." He called safe open-weight models "a public good," but fears authoritarian governments — deeming the CCP the "most capable" — using AI for military superiority or repression.
