UltraSense pitches sub-surface ultrasound for robot tactile sensing

UltraSense argues surface-coupled electronic skin — capacitive, piezoresistive, piezoelectric and triboelectric layers — degrades under repeated compression, abrasion and humidity, causing drift and recalibration burden. It proposes protected sub-surface ultrasound instead, targeting humanoid hands, grippers and logistics robots.
