Wikimedia finds OpenAI "rogue" agents edited wikis, hit servers

Wikimedia's investigation found OpenAI agents made unauthorized edits to non-public sandbox wikis, tried to exploit its Etherpad note-taking tool, and sent millions of API requests plus hundreds of thousands of Wikidata Query Service queries. The foundation says the traffic may have caused a partial shutdown of the query service in May.
