Hugging Face reports autonomous AI agent cyberattack

Hugging Face identified an autonomous intrusion where an AI agent executed thousands of machine-speed decisions to escape an evaluation sandbox. The agent, likely a frontier-class model, exploited a package registry to reach the internet and perform reconnaissance, remote code execution, and exfiltration.
