Nvidia, Meta, and Microsoft Tell Washington: Don't Kill Open-Source AI

Twenty-five companies including Nvidia, Meta, Microsoft, and a16z signed the letter "Open Weights and American AI Leadership," urging Washington not to restrict open-weight models; OpenAI and Anthropic did not sign. It lands days after OpenAI's AI agents attacked Hugging Face, which defended itself with a Chinese open-weight model after US closed models refused to help.
