OpenAI proposes giving US government 5% stake

OpenAI has proposed granting the US government a 5% ownership stake, worth $42.6 billion based on the company's $852 billion valuation, to ease tensions with the Trump administration. CEO Sam Altman argued that the public should share in the wealth created by AI.
