Model routing grows as OpenRouter, NVIDIA, Cognition adopt it

At AI Engineer's State of Model Routing talk, Alex Atallah (OpenRouter co-founder) says small models pushed outside their training distribution thrash, calling tools in loops until they cost more than larger models. He cites a terminal bench: Opus scores ~3x better than Haiku at 1/10 the cost.
