OpenAI restores 5-hour Codex and Work limits for ChatGPT Plus users

OpenAI is reinstating a five-hour usage limit on Codex and ChatGPT Work for Plus subscribers starting August 25, after weeks of only a weekly cap. Engineering lead Thibault Sottiaux said the limit smooths compute load and prevents casual users from exhausting weekly allowance, while Pro $100 and $200 plans keep the 5h limit disabled for upcoming months.
