Microsoft-led letter urges policymakers not to restrict open-weight AI

More than 20 companies including NVIDIA, Meta, Microsoft, Palantir, and Hugging Face signed the letter arguing against broad or premature restrictions on open-weight models. Titled "Open Weights and American AI Leadership," it was initiated by Microsoft.
