Carbon-X is a decoder-only model built on Qwen3-14B that reads raw DNA in a chat and answers in English, scoring 66.7% average across five DNA benchmarks — best of any open model tested. Hugging Face says it comes within a point of GPT-6.1 Sol at roughly 1,000x lower inference cost.
