Anthropic says Alibaba used 25k accounts to mine Claude
Anthropic revealed that Alibaba ran the largest known campaign to steal Claude's capabilities, generating 28.8 million exchanges via 25,000 fraudulent accounts between April 22 and June 5. The attacks targeted agentic reasoning and software engineering, and evaded detection through obfuscation. The accusation comes despite Trump's earlier actions to curb such distillation attacks.
