Open-Source Software Is Starting to Help Robots Think

Companies including Hugging Face, Nvidia, and Alibaba have released open-source tools and models for robot AI, aiming to lower the barrier to building capable robots. The Robot Operating System (ROS) has been the de facto standard for robotics software since 2007, and now the open-source movement is extending to higher-level AI reasoning for robots.
