Moonshot AI releases Kimi K3, its 2.8T open-weight model

Kimi K3 ranks #2 on the Vals Index, surpassing GPT 5.6 Sol, and scores 57 (#5) on the Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index. The 2.8T-parameter model needs ~1.56 TB of memory for weights, limited to NVIDIA B300 and AMD systems. Together AI's DeepSWE analysis found it matches Claude Fable 5 on software engineering at ~35% of the price.
