Coherent says it will stop selling indium phosphide lasers externally

Coherent told investors on its August 12 earnings call that it won't sell its indium phosphide lasers to outside customers for the foreseeable future. The company is one of a small handful of makers of these lasers, which shuttle data between chips optically in AI data centers.
