Lawmakers prepare AI 'kill switch' bill

The AI Kill Switch Act would require companies to build shutdown controls and let DHS order throttling or shutdown in loss-of-control scenarios involving deaths of at least 10 people or economic damages over $100M. Violations of emergency orders could reach $20 million per day.
