Kobalt signed a licensing deal for Spotify's upcoming AI-powered 'fan-made covers and remixes' tools, joining UMG and indie agency Merlin. Kobalt, a music publisher, claims to represent over 35% of the top 100 songs in the US and UK. CEO Laurent Hubert said songwriters are 'generally inclined to opt in but with strings attached.'
